Bead Crochet Purse Pattern Purse of Gold

Crocheted in chain stitch, slip stitch, single crochet and double crochet. This deceptively lightweight but very roomy bag is crochet in light worsted or DK weight yarn with 8/o and 6/o seed beads. A focal stone in the standard size 30 x 22mm forms the main decoration. The unbeaded base, 5-6" diameter depending on your yarn choice, is worked as a hex, then the sides are built upward, with the beaded pattern extending a little more than halfway up the bag. Buttonholes are built into the top edge, so the self-drawstring cord can be pulled through. Decorating the center front is a lovely crystal oval, which is contained within a clutch of crochet and further decorated with short beaded fringes.
